3" for #3 or 4 for duck, 3" BB or B for geese and 3 1/2 BB mixed with #2 for the cranes. I just carry steel for all of it when it's open. They say you can carry lead during goose/ duck, but you better not have any dekes or calls. Game warden down here says sandhill crane are Migratory bird, and they allow lead shot when duck / goose is closed no problem. My VM synthetic was spotless after the season down here, and we hunted Sandhill cranes in a few downpours of coastal blown storms. I passed the Sportsman version over because a co hunter had a Sportsman, and while hunting salt water, we noticed his gun had surface rust or something similiar on it, same as my 10 ga. She priced me a Waterfowl pro for 1480 at the same time. My LGS down the coast in South Texas got my black synthetic with all the goodies in the box for 1150 tax and all.
